  • Coaches Versus Cancer On February 20, MJC Athletics held a Coaches Versus Cancer night for both men's and women's basketball games versus Diablo Valley College.  Half of the gate receipts collected for each game were donated to the American Cancer Society.  The Coaches vs. Cancer program is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Since 1993, coaches have raised more than $87 million.
  • Proverb Jacobs Book Reading - On March 12,  Proverb Jacobs will be on MJC's east campus (Room: Ag-124 at 4:30pm) for a book reading and discussion regarding his Book entitled "Autobiography of an Unknown Football Player".  Proverb has a significant chapter about his life at MJC. He was a track and football star and later played football at Cal and in the NFL. He continued on to get a doctorate in education at UC Berkeley and had many life experiences that he will share. The book reading is free to the public.
  • (TENTATIVE) Hawaiian Concert Night - On April 4 (6-8:00pm) at the MJC Auditorium, MJC Athletics will co-sponsor a concert with John Cruz and Patrick Landeza, top Hawaiian music performers. This Hawaiian concert is a fundraiser for the athletic department.  Ticket prices are $10 and $12 at the door. The event is being co-sponsored by ASMJC.  All MJC students with college ID will be admitted free of charge.  John Cruz was named the Best Singer Songwriter by Hawaii Magazine and was awarded the Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Contemporary Album of the Year. 
  • 16th Annual Beer, Wine and Gourmet Food Celebration - On May 8 (6:30-9:30pm) at the MJC West Campus Mary Stuart Rogers Student Center, MJC Athletics is holding its annual Beer, Wine and Gourmet Food fundraiser, cosponsored by the MJC Foundation.  Local wineries, breweries and food establishments take part by serving food and drink to patrons.  There will also be a silent auction and sports memorabilia to bid on.  The cost is $35.  For tickets contact MJC Athletics at 575-6835.

MJC Athletics Events Streamed Online - The ASMJC is live streaming various MJC sporting events.  The ASMJC Productions page will stream to: http://www.youtube.com/user/ASMJCProductions, which will have entire game footage, highlight videos, and other videos from around the college.
