Demitrius Snaer-- Head Coach
Demitrius Snaer is in his 11th season as head men’s track and field/cross country coach at Modesto Junior College.
Since his arrival in Modesto, Snaer has led the Pirates to CVC and Big 8 championships. Recently the Pirates were crowned the 2010 Big 8 champions after scoring 249.5 points, almost 70 points more than the runner up. During his 6 years at Modesto, Snaer has been named CVC, Big 8, and Northern California coach of the year. In those 11 years there have also been over 10 new school records and over 30 improvements to MJC’s all time list.
Snaer came to Modesto after serving as an assistant coach at East Union high where he was responsible for coaching the long jump and triple jump. Snaer also coached both jumps as well as sprints at San Joaquin Delta College.
During Snaer's tenure, his programs have produced over 100 state meet qualifiers, over 20 all-americans, and 4 state champions.
A former junior college state and national champion at Delta College, an All-American sprinter and Hall of Famer at Fresno State, Snaer earned his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University.
