Women's Basketball

2017-18 MODESTO JUNIOR COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL 

MJC is excited about their upcoming women's basketball season.  The Pirates will be hosting an eight team tournament November 30 through December 2.  They will be making their season debut at College of San Mateo on November 1, 5:00 p.m, in which they'll have 13 players, including seven sophomores.  Akaysha Simpkins (Enochs HS) returns from the 2015-16 season when she finished her first MJC season as the #2 rebounder and #2 in blocked shots in all of California.  Shealyn Craven (Patterson HS), Colleen Ibasco (Oakdale HS), Mikaela Jimenez (Pitman HS), and Morgan Nunes (Turlock HS) each gained valuable experience last season making key contributions for MJC in their Freshman season.  Povai Fesili (Patterson HS) and Tia Patterson (Davis HS) are key transfers returning home for their sophomore seasons.  Freshmen who gained valuable experience redshirting last season for MJC are Micaela Maaske (Oakdale HS), Makayla Martin (Waterford HS), and Tamara Uti (Central Valley HS).  New Freshman to MJC are Heaven Simon (Central Valley HS and Humboldt State), Dezmine Washington (Turlock HS), and Jennifer Pedretti (Modesto HS).
