Looking for more than just books and classes? MJC’s student clubs offer a great way to enrich your academic experience with new activities and friends. We currently have more than 20 clubs on campus, and they focus on everything from careers, recreation and athletics to social events.

Concerts, BBQs, coat drives, political awareness booths, multi-cultural affairs and free films are just the beginning!

How to Join....

Click on our brochure and club policies to learn more about our clubs! For more information about a specific club, e-mail the club advisor or call call (209) 575-6479. You can also visit us at the ASMJC Student Government Office in the Student Center on the East Campus or at the Mary Stuart Rogers Center on the West Campus.

Once you get all signed up, be sure to attend the Inter-Club Council and Campus-wide meetings. It’s a great opportunity to voice your opinions. Support issues of campus, local and global concern!

Administration of Justice Club, Facebook

The Administration of Justice Club at Modesto Junior College creates leaders in the Administration of Justice field, broadens the horizons of MJC AJ students, and supplements the AJ program at MJC. We have monthly meetings which include independent training and instruction as well as guest speakers from the industry. We host field trips, fund raisers and other exciting supplemental education to assist our membership. We also represent the interests of AJ students in the student government at MJC. Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS)

The purpose of this Club shall be to:Foster, promote, maintain and recognize scholarship: Develop programs offering cultural and social experiences as part of the total experience of the college; Promote service to the college and the community;
Emphasize the development of leadership, character, and judgment.

Anthropology Club

This club shall exist with the purpose of encouraging interest, enhancing understanding, increasing exposure, and promoting scholastic endeavor of the student body, and the community in general, in the fields of anthropology.

Art of Music Association

The purpose of the Art of Music Association shall to be to support and further the cause of Campus bands and music in general to use membership in this association and associated bands as a stimulus to promote leadership on campus, and to provide a helpful and pleasant social experience for all Association Band Members.

Astronomy Club

This club shall:Emphasize astronomy outreach in the community.Engage students in activities such as building telescopes, grinding mirrors.Organize field trips to observatories and group gatherings with telescopes, as well as, club activities such as fundraisers.

BSU (Black Student Union)

The goals of the Black Student Union of Modesto Junior College will be to enhance sound student participation; to express the general will of the students to the student government; to create cultural and ethnic awareness on campus and in the community; to ensure that all students voices are heard; to promote tolerance regardless of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender. Black Student Union is a body of students, and most importantly for the students; Black Student Union will always address the concerns of students desiring a higher form of equal education, and strive to continue being one of the many voices on campus and in the community.

The purposes of the Club are:

1. To contribute to the growth and influence of the Republican Party, at Modesto Junior College and in the community;
2. To provide the club members with a liaison to other Republican organizations;
3. To recruit students as members of the Club and of the Republican Party;
4. To work for the election of Republican candidates to public office;
5. To train future leaders for local, state, and federal government;
6. To promote good campus, local, state, and federal government.

Female Factor

The purposes of the Club are:

1. To give students a platform to discuss issues concerning women, including the relations between men and women.
2. To provide a platform to explore feminism.
3. To provide a place to look into the history of feminism along with the development of feminism.
4. To celebrate empowered men and women.
5. To explore the social construction of gender roles.
6. To discuss and critically evaluate moral issues involved in the relations between the genders.

French Club

The purpose of this Club in the MJC community with interest in the French language and culture. We provide members the opportunity to practice their French skills and expand their knowledge in French language and culture.

Gamers Club
Advisor, Mitch Miller
The Gamers Club offers a place in which students and their friends, can escape from the stress of their school work and life. We provide an entertaining forum through which you will not be judged for their hobbies and skills. We promote camaraderie and friendly competitiveness by playing various games.

The Gathering

The purpose of the Club will to hold a weekly gathering of Magic players to participate in a competitive tournament. We will also conduct a training course for anyone who wishes to learn the game. To achieve this purpose we will be holding a gathering once per week.

Geology Club

The primary function of the Geology club is to maintain a current knowledge of geology; to gain knowledge, and assist others in learning about geology; to generate interest in the field of geology; to exist as a group that is committed to each other, the growth of the club, and the study of geology.

Human Sexualities Club
We promote sexual health and intelligence at MJC and in surrounding communities. We will provide information about sexuality-based topics, host educational events, and collaborate with local organizations who share our mission.

International Club

Love Evolution
We are a collection of students concerned about the well being and safety of LGBTQ students at Modesto Junior College and beyond. Our goal is to offer a safe and confidential environment for closeted or questioning students to come and express themselves, and to hold events that foster understanding and diversity among LGBTQ students and straight allies.

We, the M. E. Ch. A. students, upon the realization of an understandable and detrimental status in our community, commit ourselves to the improvement of that situation. We unite and organize in order to seek improvement in educational, political, and social status of our Mexican Ancestry whether it is Chicano, Mexican- American, or Latino. We accept the challenge of assuring that the American ideal of freedom and equality, with liberty and justice for all is realized. It is through our Chicanismo that we follow through.

Underground Media promotes students’ comprehension in media arts as well as application of abilities in student projects. We exercise our freedom of speech in the fields of journalism, radio, television, and film, and utilize the technical fields needed in these forums such as lighting, sound/audio, set construction, graphic design, and much more. Our student-training-student organization encourages campus unity and media aptitude, and gives students opportunities unique to Modesto Junior College.

Young Farmers

The purpose of this Club shall be to:

1. To provide an organization which will serve to bridge the gap between high school age and the time when an individual may take membership in an adult agriculture organization.
2. To supplement classroom work with citizenship training such as leadership, cooperation, and responsibility.
3. To promote activities designed to give students an opportunity to participate in the program of work of the organization and learn the principles of working together.
4. To encourage social and recreational activities.
5. To cooperate with FFA Chapters and 4-H Clubs in their activities.
6. To assist and cooperate with other agriculture organizations.
7. To increase the members knowledge in agriculture through systematic education.
8. To acquaint members with agriculture legislation.
9. To acquaint members with government services.
10. To help young persons in getting established in agriculture.
