Variety of music and choral concerts offered
The MJC Music Department is holding a variety of fall and holiday concerts - everything from electronic to symphony and jazz to choral - there will is something for every musical taste! All of the concerts are held on East campus, are open to the community, and some of them are free.

Turkey Trot planned for Thanksgiving Day
Modesto Junior College Cross Country Team invites anyone looking for exercise before their Thanksgiving Day dinner to participate in the annual Modesto Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 26, at the Tuolumne River Regional Park in Modesto. The fun run will begin at 9 a.m. with a 1/2-mile kids race, followed by the 5 kilometer run/walk at 9:20 a.m. After the race there will be an awards ceremony, refreshments and drawing prizes. more >>

Summer Sonata fundraiser set for July 17
The Modesto Junior College Foundation will hold the 13th annual "Summer Sonata" on Friday, July 17, at the home of Dr. Lars and Sabrina Enevoldsen in Modesto. The elegant evening features fine food, wine and music, beginning with a reception at 6 p.m. Dinner will be at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction. A silent auction will also be held throughout the social hour and dinner.more >>

MJC offers Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers Camp for youth
Modesto Junior College will offer a youth Quarterback and Wide Receiver Camp for ages 12 through 18 on June 22-24, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the MJC Stadium on East Campus. In its 15th year this three-evening camp offers football players and young aspiring athletes intense instruction and individual work with MJC football coaches and players.more >>

Youth basketball camps offered this summer
Modesto Junior College will be offering two Boys and Girls Summer Basketball Camps, one on June 15-18, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for boys and girls entering grades 2nd - 4th and on June 22-25, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for boys and girls entering grades 5th - 8th. MJC will also offer a High School Boys Basketball Camp on July 20-23, 12 noon - 2 p.m. All three camps will be held in the MJC Gymnasium located on East Campus.more >>

Golf Classic benefit planned
The Modesto Junior College and the Great Valley Museum will hold a Bette Belle and Jean Smith Golf Classic, on Monday, May 18 at the Oakdale Country Club, 243 N. Sterns Road in Oakdale. The golf tournament is a fundraiser to benefit the new MJC Science Community Center and Great Valley Museum planned for the college's West Campus and projected to open in fall of 2011.more >>

Acclaimed Chanticleer chorus to perform at MJC
The Modesto Junior College Friends of Music will present the acclaimed men's chorus Chanticleer in Concert on Sunday, May 17, 2009, at 5 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on the East Campus. The GRAMMY Award-winning ensemble will perform a program entitled "Wondrous Free" which is an appreciation of the 250th anniversary of the first American song.more >>

MJC stages thriller "Wait Until Dark"
Wait Until Dark, staged May 15-24, is a suspenseful thriller that revolves around a blind housewife who becomes the target of three thugs in a desperate search for drugs they think may be in her house. The MJC production is directed by theatre professor Lynette Borrelli and the play's setting was switched from Greenwich to San Francisco. more >>
