We have some great opportunities for you and your family to enjoy at the GVM.  Check back often as update this page regularly.  Unless noted, there are planetarium and museum admission charges during listed events.

Classes are held on MJC West Campus in SCC Rm. 133. 12pm - 1pm. Classes are limited to the first 20 registrations. Museum admission is free for student and one parent on day of class. Please check-in at the nature shop when you arrive. Click on image above for specific classes offered.

Science Night at the Museum

The Great Valley Museum will be open in the evenings, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., during the first Friday of every month.  Discover the universe through our planetarium shows at 7:30pm & 8:30pm and Science on a Sphere 3-D globe. Campus science clubs will offer insight and highlights, including the MJC Astronomy Club which will provide free telescope viewings on top of the Science Community Center. Join us for a fun, festive atmosphere while we explore science together!  Be sure to dress appropriately during the cold months.

Bookworm Story Telling

Join us for a morning full of wonderful stories, songs, and a few wiggles!  Bookworm Story Tellings run from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on the first and third Fridays of the month and are free with paid museum admission. Bookworm Story Telling is geared for 3-5 year olds.  *Please note dates and/or subjects may change without notice and readings are contingent on volunteer staff availability.

Museum Hours

The museum will be closed on Friday November 10th.

Parking on the MJC campus is $2 Monday - Friday. Please bring small bills. Parking is free after 5 pm on Fridays and all day on weekends. Please check our planetarium page for planetarium show times.
