Filing a FAFSA is the FIRST step in applying for financial aid. Once your FAFSA has
been processed, the Office of Federal Student Aid at the U.S. Department of Education
will send you a Student Aid Report (SAR). This is a summary of the data submitted
on your FAFSA. This information will then be sent to the colleges you listed on your
After you file your FAFSA and the college receives it, the MJC Student Financial Services Office will send you a "Document Request Notice" email to your student email account. Submit all documents requested as soon as possible. Your financial aid file will not be reviewed by an MJC Financial Aid Technician until all requested documents have been submitted.
