Dates & Deadlines

To apply for financial aid, students must complete ONE of two financial aid applications.  Either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application.

Here are a few key things to remember when applying:
    • Only ONE application is required (FAFSA or Dream Application)
    • Remember to list Modesto Junior College school code 001240
    • Complete a new application EACH academic year
    • Apply on time (see dates below)
Important Information:
    1. Your FAFSA must be received and processed by the US Department of Education while you are still enrolled.
    2. Allow 3 to 15 days for MJC to receive the results after you submit your FAFSA on-line to the federal processor.
    3. Apply as early as possible to meet the application deadline.  We must receive the results of your FAFSA by the last day of your enrollment period and all required documents must be received by the deadline posted in the Federal Register (to be announced), or 120 days after the last day of the student’s enrollment, whichever is earlier.
