Modesto Junior College
Due to ongoing poor air quality, Modesto Junior College will remain closed through Sunday, November 25. All classes and extracurricular activities on campus are cancelled during this time. MJC will reopen on Monday, November 26.

Agriculture & Natural Science 

Nursery worker: This position is for a hardworking, outdoor type of a person.  Will be working with all aspects of maintaining the Environmental Horticulture Science laboratory experience area on East Campus.  This will include but not limited to weeding, transplanting, pruning, organizing, cleaning, and other related nursery skills.  Will train the person that enjoys working and can work independently.

Child Development (Me-Wuk Preschool/Wawona Toddler Lab)

Child Development Lab Intern:  Child Development Students who have completed a lab class with a “B” grade or higher may apply for the Child Development Lab Intern position to support children in our lab classes.  Interns may be asked to provide the following: heath checks, diapering routines, snack prep, filing, and/or classroom set up/clean up.  Intern assignments will be based on abilities, strengths, and experience.  We are requiring a yearlong commitment to provide continuity for the children.  Personal qualities required: self-motivator, judgment, creative ability, and enjoy working with children.  Specific courses completed: Child Development 127 or 128

DSPS – Alternate Media

Student Worker: Manually convert educational materials info formats used by students with disabilities.  Assist students on how to use software to access materials created in alternate media formats.  Describe images on textbook pages and math equations.  Accurately transcribe videos using correct spelling and punctuation.  Proofread transcripts; assist students with alternate media request.

Duplicating Center:

Student Worker: Duplicating’s student workers are the first point of contact for walk-in service at our front desk, meaning that customer service is their first priority.  Strong reading comprehension skills, accuracy, and the ability to occiaonally lift 50 lbs. are all necessary.  The bulk of the work is operating high speed copiers, but also includes finishing work like cutting, binding, and laminating.  This position will require standing and performing repetitive and sometimes demanding physical tasks.  Valid Driver’s Licenses necessary.

Great Valley Museum:

Museum Assistant: Duties will include but not limited to: Perform opening, daily and closing procedures for the nature gift shop.  Being able to properly handle cash and perform basic cashiering principles.  Manage incoming and outgoing calls to and from the GVM.  Be able to lift 15-30 lbs. on occasion.  Work diligently on tasks and projects assigned by GVM staff.  Work with computers programs such as word, excel and publishers as well as an iPad.  Perform various other tasks with excellence and a great attitude.
