Biography

I am Eric Silva, an Instructor in Manufacturing andMachining at Modesto Junior College (MJC) with over 18 years of experience inthe field. Before joining MJC in the Fall of 2021, I served as a Machine ShopSupervisor for 14 years at Wafab International and a consultant for Kineticsand Mega Fluid systems, gaining extensive expertise in various machiningprocesses and techniques. I gained significant experience in the Semiconductorindustry programming and operating both CNC and manual mills and lathes. Duringmy industrial career, I attended MJC to acquire my A.S. degree in Machine ToolTechnology. I am always looking to further my experience and grow as aninstructor and Machinist. On my off time, I work on trainings from Fanuc forcertifications in Industrial Robotics and pursue my bachelor's degree.Currently, I hold 4 certificates with Fanuc Industrial Robotics and am activelyseeking other certifications to enhance my skills and further strengthen theprogram. My combination of academic knowledge, practical experience, andindustry certifications allows me to effectively educate and prepare studentsfor successful careers in the manufacturing and machining industry.
