Celebrate Black Student Success Week

Save the Date for Black Student Success Week 2025!

This year's theme is "Lift Up, Level Up: The Rise of Black Serving Institutions." 

You're invited to participate in the Black Student Success Week statewide webinar series, which will be held daily from April 21 - 25, 2025.  In-person gatherings will be hosted at the RISE UP Center – East, CAT 261, Monday to Thursday only from 12 – 1 pm. 

The Black Hour 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM (PST) – virtual and the RISE UP Center - East
The Black Hour webinars will share insights and approaches for improving student success among Black and African American students in community colleges. These daily webinars are open to community college administrators, staff, faculty, practitioners, and students.

The After Party 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM (PST) - virtual and the RISE UP Center - East
Join us for daily small group discussion forums immediately following The Black Hour webinars. These facilitated discussion forums will provide an opportunity for participants to debrief and reflect on topics and themes highlighted during The Black Hour.

The Student Hour  6:00 PM – 7:00 PM (PST) – virtual 
This student-centered series focuses on the needs and resources available to help current and prospective college students succeed. Working with the California Community College Chancellor's Office "I Can Go To College" campaign, The Student Hour webinars occur Monday through Friday from 6 to 7 pm.

Black Student Success Week activities are free and open to all.
