The program concentrates on ASHP advanced-level standards and prepares students for practice as Advanced-level pharmacy technicians in a broad range of advanced roles in a variety of contemporary settings (e.g., outpatient, hospital, home care, long-term care etc.) and has students acquire additional knowledge, skills, behaviors, and abilities necessary for such advanced practice. The unique nature of our program allows students to learn in state of the art hands on labs, then use experiential learning as they work in a variety of practice settings. Upon successful completion of the program students will be eligible for licensure as a Pharmacy Technician by the California State Board of Pharmacy.

Students completing this degree are guaranteed admission to the CSU System, but not to a particular campus or major. Students transferring to a CSU campus that does accept this degree will be required to complete no more than 60 units after transfer to earn a bachelor’s degree. This degree may not be the best option for students intending to transfer to a particular CSU campus or to a university or college that is not part of the CSU system. The Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Program was developed in response to the growing demand in the human services field for qualified individuals who provide support services in the mental health system, including to mental health consumers and family members. Completing the PSR Program equips participants with a core set of essential skills for entry-level positions in human services and provides nine units of college credit required to take the national certification exam to become a Certified Psychosocial Rehabilitation Practitioner. This program not only offers foundational training for those new to the field but also supports the continued development of current human services professionals. Additionally, the Skills Recognition earned through the PSR Program serves as a step on the educational and career ladder, leading toward further credentials such as the Human Services Certificate of Achievement and/or a Human Services Degree. All courses in the program count as electives or required coursework for the Human Services Degree at Modesto Junior College.
