We want to hear from YOU! The Healthy Minds Survey is back, and student voices are more important than ever. This national survey helps the college better understand student mental health and well-being. Your feedback helps the college improve the support, services, and resources available on campus.
In partnership with the University of Michigan, the Healthy Minds Study (HMS) returns tp Modesto Junior College (MJC) starting March
24 through April 18, 2025. This voluntary and confidential survey focuses on understanding
and improving the mental health of college students.
MJC first participated in this study in Spring 2023, and the survey has returned to
gather important feedback from students. Student responses help MJC evaluate current
mental health services, identify student needs, and plan for future programs and resources.
Because the student experiences matters. Two years ago, nearly half of MJC students reported struggling with depression. Now, MJC Health Services is asking for updated feedback to better meet student needs in 2025 and beyond. Topics include mental and emotional health, physical health and habits, support systems, use of substances like alcohol or other drugs, and academic stress and experiences.
If you are 18 years old, or older, you will receive an email from MJC Health Services healthyminds-MJC@umich.edu with a personalized link to the survey. The email will
be sent to your MJC student email address ending in @my.yosemite.edu
The survey is open to all MJC students and takes about 25-30 minutes to complete,
and you can return to it at any time using your link. Topics include mood, mental
health, physical health, substance use, support systems, and academic life.
