Special Events

Al Chemist and the Mischiefts

Modesto Junior College Professor Emeritus Steve Murov and friends share their love of science and of exciting chemistry demonstrations.  If you saw them at the Gallo Center on March 15, 2017, or at any of the other public events they have visited, and wondered about the science behind the demonstrations, take a look at the descriptions HERE.  Dr. Murov also provides great information on upcoming local area science events on his webpage HERE.

Wild Planet Day

The Great Valley Museum Foundation hosts a Wild Planet Day every year in the fall. It is held at the Science Community Center on west campus of Modesto Junior College. This event is focused on promoting natural history and science to our local area community.  We have special presentations and dozens of science activities, informational booths, and hands-on activities. Most of which will be available to take home. Plan to join us for this family fun and educational day.
