Join the Child Development Spanish Cohort

The School of Language Arts & Education is offering four Child Development classes in Spanish during the 2026-27 Academic Year. Students enrolling in this Spanish cohort can earn a 12 unit Associate Teacher Certificate of Achievement in only two semesters. This cohort will be taught online and in Spanish with the exception of one 90 minute orientation that must be attended in-person. Orientation will be held during the first week of the Fall 2026 semester.

Students must enroll in the following classes during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 to complete the cohort. 

Fall 2026 (First Term)

  • CLDDV101-2789 Principles and Practices of Teacher Young Children and
  • CLDDV103-4602 Child Growth and Development.
  • Orientation will be held in-person on August 25, 2026
    • West Campus Computer Lab Sierra Hall 214 from 6pm-7:25pm.

Spring 2027 (Second Term):

  • CLDDV107 Introduction to Curriculum
  • CLDDV109 Child-Family-Community
    • This course is ideal for MJC Students studying education, Family Child Care Providers, community members and parents.
