Chatbots & Checkpoints: Where Does AI Fit into the Research Process?

Tuesday, February 4th from 2:35 pm to 4:00 pm  |  West Campus, Sierra Hall Rm. 209
Wednesday, February 5th from 11:55 am - 1:20 pm  |  West Campus, Sierra Hall Rm. 209

Curious about what AI tools like ChatGPT can—and can't—do for your research? Want to understand how chatbots fit into the bigger picture of academic research? Join librarians from the Learning & Library Center for an interactive workshop that explores these questions and helps you make informed decisions about AI in your academic work.

In this 85-minute session, you'll learn:

  • How chatbots differ from search engines and what that means for your research
  • The limitations and potential biases of AI tools
  • Where AI tools might fit appropriately in academic work—and where they don't.
  • Multiple sessions are available across both campuses and online to fit your schedule

More workshops are happening in February. Take a look at the full workshop schedule on the Library & Learning Center web page.  Ask your professors about earning extra credit for attending!
