Celebrating California Native American Day

This special gathering is being held in observance of California Native American Day, a statewide observance recognized on the fourth Friday of September. California Native American Day was established to honor California’s Tribal Nations and help educate the public about the histories, cultures, traditions, and continuing presence of California Native peoples. California Native American Day gives us an opportunity to recognize the strength, resilience, sovereignty, and living cultures of California Tribal Nations today.

This is a free event for all MJC students and the general public. 

 

Reminder: Modesto Junior College and California Community Colleges (CCC) observe the Native American Day holiday on the fourth Friday of September. MJC East and West Campus will be closed in observance of the holiday on September 25th. Classes will resume on Monday, September 28, 2026.
