Captioning ensures that video content is accessible to a wider audience, enhancing
inclusivity and compliance with accessibility standards and regulations. Faculty and
staff may request captioning for their courses by emailing meryc@yosemite.edu
Please follow these guidelines when making a request:
Submit videos for online classes one month in advance to get approval from the DECT
grant to cover the cost of professional captioning services.
Submit short videos for traditional courses at least 15 work days before showing them
in class.
Alternate Media does not caption full length DVD movies and documentaries.
Last minute requests may not be completed in a timely manner. If you have students that requires the captioned media and this is a graded assignment, The student needs to be given reasonable extra time to complete the assignment. OR The student may be given an alternative assignment that covers the same material.
