Candidate Profiles

Shenna Jones

Senator of Behavioral & Social Sciences Candidate

I’m running for ASMJC position so I can express my amazing ideas, get positive feed back. I also want to help others and to make a difference while be in college.

Juan Martinez Cazarez

Senator of Behavioral & Social Sciences Candidate

I am running for an ASMJC position because I believe it would be excellent experience to gain leadership skills and making changes out of students ideas or concerns. I want to strengthen communication between students and the campus leadership in behavioral and social sciences especially since my major is in psychology.

Victor Tello

Senator of Behavioral & Social Sciences Candidate

Seeing ASMJC on campus motivated me to join and help out. It’s also a position full of opportunities for new friends and experiences.

Alejandra Valdovinos

Senator of Language Arts & Education Candidate

I am running for an ASMJC position because I have always been involved in student leadership all four years through throughout high school, and I truly have a desire in my heart to collaborate with others and help the campus evolve overtime. I would love to pitch in my new and creative ideas to help better our mjc student life.

Jwalia Raval

Senator of Business & Computing Candidate

I am running for ASMJC because I hope to include my perspective as a dual enrollment student for the past three years, who is currently working on earning an associate degree while in High School. This puts me in the position to represent an underserved group who can benefit from a voice, and make up a large percentage of MJC students.

Katherine Melendez

Senator of Business & Computing Candidate

I believe it is important for our school to have voices that can make a change and listen to the students. Being one of those voices that can help make a difference in our campus is a great opportunity and learning experience.

Jason Suits

Senator of Science, Engineering & Mathematics Candidate

As a Physics student and former professional chef of eight years, I bring a disciplined, results-oriented work ethic and proven leadership experience from my time with the Science and Video Game Development clubs. I am running for ASMJC Senate to provide steady, hands-on support for student organizations and to ensure our campus resources effectively serve the needs of all academic pathways.

Ulises Ruvalcaba

Senator of Industry & Trades Candidate

My goal is to better reach students information programs that they don’t know about. I already do this on my own position working on the cafeteria. I let people know about the programs that they have to get free food and things that they have no clue about.

Hannah Tillery

Senator of Kinesiology, Public Health, and Athletics Candidate

I am running because I thought it would be something fun to do. It is always fun to be a part of something greater than myself.

Perla Garcia

Senator At-Large Candidate

I am running for ASMJC to ensure our diverse campus is authentically represented through active, hands-on leadership and inclusive student programming. I am eager to apply my passion for community service by organizing impactful events that move beyond discussion and create a true sense of belonging for every Pirate.

 Jazmin Lopez Hernandez

Senator At-Large Candidate

I am running for an ASMJC position because serving my community is important to me, and I believe meaningful change begins with showing up. By listening to others and advocating for the needs of students, I hope to help create a campus environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and heard.

Rohan Sidhu

Senator At-Large Candidate

Through ASMJC, I hope to gain meaningful experience working in a formal, collaborative environment whilst cultivating policies and programs in support of positive initiatives across campus. Whether it’s collaborating with my fellow senators to develop career / transfer workshops for incoming students or applying my technical proficiency towards enhancing a more streamlined administrative structure within ASMJC, I strive to contribute an impact that builds confidence in advocating for others around me and drives transformative change.

Lauren Porter

Senator At-Large Candidate

I am running for an ASMJC position because I feel like there’s so much improvement that MJ is capable of and I really want to help try and improve the campus as much as possible as I am a student and also want it to improve.

Estella Jaques

Executive Secretary Candidate

I served as a Senator at Large, and I found ASMJC to be one of the most fulfilling extracurriculars I've done. I am running for an executive position because I am ready to take the next step and want to commit to being a supportive and accessible resource for all ASMJC members as well as the student body.

Robbi Waln

Director of Student Relations Candidate

I hope to elected to the director of student relations. I have been a senator before and want to try to have an executive position.

Emma Villanueva-Nuno

Director of Student Relations Candidate

I want to make a positive impact and reach students to fulfill their needs in any way I can. Being part of such a community has made me grow as a person in ways I would’ve never imagined.

Shelvin Singh

Director of Political Development Candidate

So to allow better access for students to ASMJC. And to be able to better serve student needs!

Destiny Martinez

Director of Political Development Candidate

I am running for ASMJC position because I have run before and the people I met. I want to run again but this time I as Director of political development. I’m hoping to make sure and let special-needs students know that if I can do what I wanted in life, they can do it too.

Jaylen Ward

Vice President Candidate

I am running for Vice President of ASMJC as I believe in this position, it is important that leaders are to lead with integrity and a vision. My vision is to ensure equality and fairness for all students, and to be available to any student, willing to navigate and assist in any handed situation.

Ruby Naranjo

Vice President Candidate

I am running for ASMJC vice president to make MJC more than just a community college, but a second home. I want to increase engagement on campus while serving as the voice of student’s concerns.

Matthew Antirien

Leadership is about giving back, and I feel like I'm at a place where I can help the student body grow and build a greater sense of connection amongst one another.
