The Associated Students of Modesto Junior College (ASMJC) proudly represent MJC students through respected, honorable leadership and consistent contributions to our campus community. ASMJC leaders carry forward the voice of the student body, advocate for student concerns, and play a vital role in MJC’s shared governance.
We are excited to announce the results of the 2025–2026 ASMJC Elections. The following candidates have been elected to serve as your student representatives and help shape the future of our campus community.
Congratulations to the new Student Senate!
I'm Christian Bronil, and I'm running for ASMJC Director of Political Development!
I'm a first-year Political Science major and current ASMJC Senator at Large. I also
serve on the Campus Safety Committee. I understand the importance of an informed and
engaged student body. No matter your political views, we must work together to promote
student engagement, advocate for student voices, and encourage respectful political
dialogue. If elected, I will strive to represent all students and ensure we have access
to critical political information; both here at MJC and in our community. Student
government should be a platform that not only represents but also protects us. I’d
be honored to serve as your voice at MJC. Go Pirates!
Hello! My name is Julianna Coronado. I am majoring in Business Administration and
Communications. This upcoming year will be my second year at MJC. Some of my hobbies
include collecting physical forms of music such as CDs and Vinyls records! I am running
for the position of Senator of Business and Computing because I am involved with clubs
and communities that fall under this particular school. I want to use my experience
and connections to improve the needs of our students. With this position, I hope to
ensure that students pursuing a major within the school of Business and Computing
feel represented and have a person supporting their success within MJC's student government.
My name is Noorin Ghafoori, a second-year computer science student at MJC and a senator
at ASMJC, and I'm running in the upcoming election for Student Body President. I'm
taking STEM classes to pursue my degree and a golf class to explore new hobbies. Through
my experience working with Pirates' Pantry, refugee resettlement programs, Campus
Life and Student Learning Center, I've seen the challenges students face, ranging
from food insecurity to a lack of essential resources. As Student Body President,
I will work to bring meaningful improvements, such as renaming MJC to a City College
for better recognition, expanding housing support, creating a Club & Cultural Center
to foster inclusivity, and introducing optional meal plans to enhance both academic
and social life on campus. My goal is to ensure that students have the resources,
support, and opportunities they need to thrive. Vote for me, and together, we can
build a stronger, more supportive MJC!

Hi guys! My name is Parnian Hakimi, and this is my fourth semester here at MJC. I
am currently running for Student relations for Association Student Modesto Junior
College. I am currently studying Molecular and Cell Biology and plan on transferring
to UC Berkeley. On my free time, I like to spend time with my family and friends,
reading book, and travel. I joined ASMJC during the fall 2023 and have learned about
myself, my goals, strength, and I have acquired knowledge and expertise in the qualities
and skills to assume a leadership role as a student. For the next academic year, as
Student relations, I plan to foster a supportive community where everyone feels empowered
to share their ideas and grow together.
Hi friends! My name is Nasya Menezes, and I am a Communication Studies major here
at MJC. I’m so excited to be running for this year’s Senator of Arts, Performances,
and Humanities. From a young age, art has always been an integral part of my life
whether that has been through band, theater, or my love for debate. As a senator this
past year, I was proud to host MJC’s first ever Multicultural Event, where we had
the opportunity to experience diverse artistic expressions from cultures all around
the world. If elected, I will continue to make it my priority to ensure that the beauty
of performance and art is accessible to all students, creating a campus where everyone’s
voice can be heard and expressed. I’m excited to meet all of you and work together
to make art a central part of our campus community!
My name is Calvin Moon, a first-year student at MJC studying Math and Computer Science.
I have spent my time at MJC assisting with student needs as a Campus Life student
worker, partaking in different academic clubs, such as the MJC Science Club, and focusing
on my studies to maintain my grades in difficult STEM coursework. I wish to further
my involvement with MJC students pursuing a career in STEM, as well as with the faculty
in the department, by running for the ASMJC Senator of the School of Science, Engineering,
and Mathematics.
Hi, my name is Fay. I’m 19 and currently studying biology. I’m passionate about protecting
the environment and ensuring public safety, which is why I’m running for the position
of Senator of Public Safety in the ASMJC 2025-2026 election. I’m excited to take on
new challenges and make a difference in our community. When I’m not busy with school
or preparing for this campaign, I love spending time with my family, going on hikes,
reading, and baking.
