Rooted in Culture, Growing in Community

Celebrate Native American Heritage Month at Modesto Junior College’s 2nd Annual Indigenous Arts & Crafts Fair, “Rooted in Culture, Growing in Community.” Join the SIERRA Program for a meaningful day of art, food, culture, education, and community to honor Indigenous perseverance, creativity, heritage, and the generations who continue carrying these traditions forward throughout California and beyond.

Hosted by the MJC SIERRA Program, this community-centered event will take place on:

Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at MJC’s West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Avenue in Modesto.

Admission is free and open to students, employees, families, and the public.

The fair will feature Native American artists, craftspeople, cultural exhibitors, Indigenous food vendors, and opportunities to learn about the traditions, creativity, and contemporary experiences of Native communities. Guests are invited to shop authentic Native-made goods, connect with artists and community members, enjoy cultural activities, and support Indigenous businesses.

The SIERRA Program supports American Indian/Alaskan Native (AI/AN) students with resources, guidance, and a welcoming campus community. They are dedicated to helping AI/AN students succeed, stay connected to heritage, and feel empowered at Modesto Junior College.
