The first week of Fall is an exciting time for ALL students at MJC! Offices, departments and academic schools across campus kick-off the new academic year with events and activities that provide students the opportunity to get involved and find new ways to make the most of your college experience. Coffee and Donuts with the ASMJC | 8 am – 10:30 am
The first day of classes can be nerve-racking, filled with new student jitters and the stress of navigating a new campus. Take a moment to pause, grab a cup of coffee and a donut, and meet your representatives from Associated Students of Modesto Junior College (ASMJC)! We’re so glad you’re here and look forward to working with you this year!
Plant Pot Painting | 2 pm – 4 pm | East Campus Quad
Join us for a leisurely gardening experience where you’ll plant your own seedling in a personalized designer pot! As you begin your journey at Modesto Junior College, let this plant serve as a reminder of your potential to grow, thrive, and flourish during your time at MJC. Take a moment to connect, create, and cultivate something meaningful while building community with fellow students.
Taco Tuesday with a Twist! | 5 pm – 8 pm | Student Center Dinning
Your Taco Tuesday just got upgraded! Grab your team and join us in the MJC Student Center Dining Hall for a fun-filled night of trivia, games, and good vibes. Put your knowledge to the test with pop culture trivia, interactive challenges, and friendly competition while enjoying tacos and connecting with fellow students. Whether you’re a trivia master or just coming for the fun, this is the perfect way to unwind, build community, and we want to see you there. Winner gets bragging rights and ASMJC swag!
9:30 am - 12 pm | East Campus Quad outside the Student Center
The MJC Transfer Center hosts an opportunity for students planning to transfer to visit with 4-year college and university representatives. The Transfer Day College Fair at MJC is an opportunity to ask questions, gather materials, and make connections with college representatives. Students can get guidance on the process of transferring to four-year institutions or exploring career pathways after they complete their course work at MJC.
Representatives from over 50 CSU, UC, private and out-of-state universities will be on campus to answer any and all college-related questions. Students will be able to speak with admission representatives to find out information about the application process, financial aid, admission requirements, etc.

Music Festival & College Night | 4 pm - 8 pm | West Campus Plaza
Open to MJC students, high school students, junior high school students, parents and the community.
4 pm: Registration OpensCheck in for free swag and food truck tix!
Starting at 4pm at the check in table in the West Campus Plaza. Collect your MJC swag and food truck tix with proof of registration. (Giveaway supplies are limited and will be given out on a first come, first served basis.)
Check in at the Elk statue at the Science & Community Center 5 min. before the tour start time.
Starting every hour 45 min beginning at 4:30 pm. Tour Start times: 4:30, 5:15, 6:00, 6:45, 7:30pm
Meet us in the West Campus Plaza near Glacier Hall. Explore your educational options and visit with over 50 reps from the UC and CSU college systems. Take a look at the list of colleges that will be onsite to meet with students.
Grab a bite with your Food Ticket! (1 ticket per registered guest, while supplies last)
Exchange your WestFest food ticket for a sweet or savory tasty bite at a variety of
local food truck vendors.
Representatives from the following colleges will be present to transfer and enrollment opportunities for students.

Remember the excitement of your very first day of school? Picking out the perfect outfit, showing off a brand new backpack, and posing for that photo your family insisted on taking before you left the house? Some traditions are too good to leave behind!
Join The ASMJC and the Photography Club and snap your First Day of School Picture as we celebrate a new academic year at MJC. Whether you're a new student or returning for another semester, this is your moment to capture the start of a new chapter. Strike a pose, make some memories, and show off your Pirate pride!
Sunset Movie on the Plaza | 7:30 pm – 10 pm | West Campus Plaza
Bring your friends and your family and wrap up our Week of Welcome with popcorn a slushy and a movie under the stars! Join us for a relaxing evening on the lawn as we watch Monsters University and reflect on an exciting first week at MJC.
Ease into the weekend by connecting with fellow students, enjoying a fun community atmosphere, and settling in for a cozy outdoor movie experience. This is a BYOS (Bring Your Own Seat) event, so don’t forget your lawn chair, blanket, or anything else you need to be comfortable for the show (The ASMJC will have limited chairs available for the movie).
