Machine Tool Technology Program

The Machine Tool Technology Program provides training toward the acquisition of proficiency in the use of metal removal and metal forming machine tools.Training in calculations of cutting speeds and feeds, use of measuring tools, study of elementary metallurgy, and making adjustments are also emphasized. Special focus is given to care of equipment, orderliness, accuracy, speed, judgment, confidence and safe working habits.

Basic Machining Skills Recognition

The Basic Machining award is designed to provide training on manual and computer operated machine tools (CNC). Students will receive instruction on the theory and practice of turning, milling and the use of precision measuring equipment.

Machinery Maintenance Apprentice Certificate of Achievement

The Machinery Maintenance Apprentice Certificate Program is designed for individuals hired as apprentices by member employers of the Stanislaus County Area Manufacturing and Maintenance Joint Apprenticeship Committee. The program is designed so that an employer hires the apprentice, and the apprentice increases his/her occupational skills and knowledge through On-The-Job Training at the employer site while attending specific college courses approved as related supplemental instruction at Modesto Junior College.
