Support Available for Students at Risk or Experiencing Homelessness

If you are currently experiencing homelessness currently experiencing homelessness or are at risk, support is available. MJC has partnered with Lutheran Social Services to offer Rapid Re-housing and Housing Navigation for eligible students. 

In collaboration with MJC Basic Needs, Lutheran Social Services, provides qualifying at-risk or students experiencing homelessness with Rapid Re-housing (RRH) or Housing Navigation through its College Initiative.

Eligibility requirements apply. Explore the requirements below or visit MJC Basic Needs housing web page for more information on the partnership with Lutheran Social Services and other housing support services. 


Lutheran Social Services College Initiative eligibility requirements:

  • Completed 9 units at Modesto Junior College with a CUM GPA 2.0 or higher
  • Be actively enrolled in at least 9 units per semester
  • Completed Basic Needs Application for the current semester they are applying for
  • Academic engagement
    • Demonstrate campus life and/or student support services engagement
  • Student must have a financial aid application on file with an unmet need
  • Supporting Documentation Required
    • Personal statement of current situation and your academic/career objectives at MJC.
    • Current class schedule
    • Proof of homelessness: third-party homeless verification letter or form from an authorized agency
