A²MEND provides an affirming environment where Black male students and other men of color are able to thrive. The aim of A²MEND is to improve academic success and to develop culturally competent servant student leaders. MJC’s A²MEND program provides educational, cultural, social and intellectual programs that promote positivity and brotherhood among its members.

A²MEND promotes brotherhood, positivity, and resilience. With mentorship and support, we aim to address and overcome ongoing challenges, empowering our students with the wisdom, experience, and community connections they need for long-term success.

Our Mission 

The African American Male Education Network & Development (A²MEND) is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to empowering students through mentorship, leadership development, and academic support.

  • Assistance with clarifying your professional and educational goals

  • Transfer resources to UC’s, CSU’s, Private Schools as well as HBCU’s
