Business Information Technology - BIT

The Business Information Technology (BIT) program offers courses to help you achieve success in your current or future career. Enroll in a course to advance your knowledge, learn a software program and develop new skills, or complete a series of courses to earn a certificate or degree. In adapting to rapidly changing technology in today’s workforce, we utilize the latest versions of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365.

Business Administration

The Modesto Junior College (MJC) Business Department offers a selection of comprehensive courses in the areas of Business Administration, Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Management, Business Operations, International Business, Marketing, and Supervisory Management. Courses are designed to provide students with relevant, marketable job skills attain Associate Degrees or prepare for Transfer to a University.

Computer Electronics

Taking our courses will provide students with the knowledge and skills to perform basic computer hardware, telecommunication and industrial installation and support in accordance with industry commonly accepted practices. Students will also be equipped to work successfully with Industrial and Information Computer Technology applications in multiple industries, learn the functions and components of computers as well as assembling computers and installing operating systems. Network connectivity and configuration of system security tools is taught as a buildable knowledgebase as students complete Level 1 and Level 2 Certificates with the Computer Support Specialist Program.

Computer Science

The Computer Science Program provides students with a general knowledge of computer literacy and information systems, microcomputer hardware and software systems, the ability to work with a wide variety of applications software, and an opportunity to develop programming and problem-solving skills. The rapid spread of computers and information technology has generated a need for highly trained workers proficient in a variety of areas. The programs in Computer Science and Information Systems provides students with the knowledge, training and hands-on skills to meet the increasing demand for computer specialists in computer science, information systems, database administration, network administration, and web development.

Real Estate Program

The Real Estate Program is designed to provide the skills necessary for salespersons and other workers in the real estate field. Courses cover principles and practices of real estate, sales, financing, appraisal, escrow, and legal aspects of real estate. The courses fulfill the state education requirements for the salesperson and/or brokers licensing exams.
