African American Education Conference

What is the purpose of the Conference?
The purpose of the African American Education Conference is to engage and empower current and future students in pursuit of higher education. We provide tools and resources to help identify educational goals in a compassionate and supportive environment.

How is the conference funded?
The conference is funded by the MJC Office of Student Equity and the Associated Students of MJC.

African American Conference (AAEC) Legacy Award Criteria 

  • Nominees must have a minimum of five years of service with the African American Education Conference. 
  • Nominees may be MJC employees, alumni, community members, or organization.
  • Nominees have made an above-and-beyond commitment to the African American Education Conference.
  • Any member of the committee may nominate someone.
  • Nominees with the most votes by the committee will be selected. In the case of a tie, a runoff vote between the top two candidates will take place

 

Hispanic Education Conference

Celebrate Hispanic history and culture with a day of keynote speakers, workshops, food, and entertainment. This event is in-person and a perfect fit for high school, and college students. Community members, parents are also welcome. 

Walk-ins are welcome on the day of the event. RSVPs are strongly encouraged as seating is limited.

Conferencia Anual Hispana de Educación

Celebra la historia y cultura hispana con un día lleno de oradores principales, talleres, comida y entretenimiento. Este evento es en persona y esta enfocado en estudiantes de secundaria, preparatoria y estudios superiores. Miembros de la comunidad, padres de familia y estudiantes de todas las edades son bienvenidos.
