Per Section 69432.95 of California Education Code, Modesto Junior College must advise students of the following information upon registration:
Please note: For the purposes of the Cal Grant Program, defines "full time" to mean 12 or more semester units and defines "part time" to be 6 to 11 semester units.
Cal Grant A provides assistance for low to middle-income students. Beginning with the sophomore year, this award also helps pay tuition and fees at a qualifying institution offering baccalaureate degree programs. The Cal Grant A requires a minimum enrollment of 6 or more units per semester.
Refunds are calculated based on enrollment status per semester.
Only students who meet one of the following can be paid at the community college level.

9 - 11.5 units (3/4 -time) $2,250.00
6 - 8.5 units (1/2-time) $1,500.00
0.5 - 5.5 units $0

Cal Grant C provides assistance with costs for occupational and vocational programs. Selections are based on financial need, vocational aptitude and enrollment in an eligible program at a California community or independent college or vocational school that is at least four months long. The Cal Grant C requires a minimum enrollment of 6 or more units per semester.

Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG) is awarded to Cal Grant A, B and C recipients at California Community Colleges. Students enrolled in the Respiratory Care BS program are not eligible for this award.
Refunds are calculated based on enrollment status per semester:

12 - 14.5 units $1,298 per semester

Beginning Fall 2023, students with experience in foster care may be eligible for an additional $5,250 per semester through the Student Success Completion Grant.
Students must be a current or former foster youth who was in foster care, defined as having court dependency established or continued, at or after the age of 13.
