MJC is proud to address your needs as we work with you to provide resources, a safe environment in which to share your experiences, and the information needed to reach your personal goals. We are proud to serve LGBTQ+ students because we believe in upholding student equity.
All individuals have the right to use gender-neutral restroom facilities consistent with their gender identity or expression. MJC has actively been working to convert forty-one restrooms, on both East and West campuses, to single-user, gender-neutral restrooms. It is the policy of Modesto Junior College not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or disability, or any other protected class.
Recognizing that many students use chosen name (preferred name) or pronoun other than their legal ones to identify themselves, Modesto Junior College offers the option of the use of a chosen name and pronoun. MJC extends this accommodation in order to help foster a more welcoming, supportive, and respectful campus climate for all students.
Note: The chosen first name is not a legal name change. Students who are legally changing their name should follow the instructions listed at SSN and Name Changes.

Students may also request to withhold disclosure of directory information altogether. Directory information may be disclosed by the college unless students provide written requests to the Enrollment Services Office preventing the disclosure of their directory information.
