A tour of Modesto Junior College is the best way for prospective students, parents
and/or groups to experience the beauty of our campuses. We offer various tour options
depending on group size, grade level, and area of interest.Our friendly tour guides will walk you through the campus, where you will learn about our history, programs, and student support services.
Group Tour Request
Groups must complete the Tour Request Form and submit required certification of insurance
and facilities request form. We encourage groups to complete requests three weeks
prior to your scheduled visit.
We offer 1-hour General campus group tours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and select Fridays.
Tours run at these times: 9:30 am, 11:30 am, and 1:30 pm. CTE/Fire Science tours are
available once a month on designated dates, with a maximum capacity of 200 students
per tour from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM.
Interested in becoming a Pirate! Come and learn what hidden treasures are available
to you at your local community college. This tour provides an overview of MJC’s East
Campus facilities, programs, student support services, campus life and the rich history
of Modesto Junior College. A scavenger hunt option in place of the walking tour is
available upon request; for junior high and high school students. This east campus
general tour is suitable for all ages and is approximately 45 minutes in length.
Lights, Camera, Action... This tour provides a backstage glimpse of how MJC performing
arts shows come life. Students will have the opportunity to visit back stage at the
Performing Art Center (PAC) and see different aspects of our plays and performances.
Areas that may be visited include our main auditorium, sound and lighting booth, props/costumes
warehouses and our student art gallery. This tour is approximately 1-2 hours in length.
Stop, drop and roll to the MJC Regional Fire Training Center. This tour provides an
overview of what it takes to be a first responder. You will have the opportunity to
see first-hand the state-of-the-art facilities designed to give realistic training
to first responders. This tour is suitable for all ages and is approximately 60-90
minutes in length.
Interested in a hands-on learning environment? This tour focuses on MJC’s career programs
than specializes in skilled trades, applied sciences, modern sciences, and career
preparation. Join us to visit our learning laboratories in agriculture, allied health,
and technical education. Additional option includes a career programs presentation
suited for junior high to high school ages. The tour is approximately 1.5-2 hours
in length.
