"Stop the Bleed" is a national initiative aimed at teaching the public how to respond
effectively to life-threatening bleeding emergencies. The training is designed for
anyone, regardless of their medical background, and focuses on empowering participants
to act as immediate responders in critical situations. The key components of the
training are: recognizing life-threatening bleeding, techniques, direct pressure,
wound packing, and tourniquet application.

Looking for a fun and interactive critical thinking activity for your classroom? Join
us to learn how to SPAR. SPontanous ARgumentation (SPAR) is a simple debate format
that encourages students to debate two sides of an issue in a short amount of time
(approx. 15 minutes total). In this workshop, we will teach you the format for a SPAR
debate and will run a few practice rounds. Then you can adapt the debate topics to
your discipline and course needs.

What happens when we stop seeing formerly incarcerated students through the lens of
the system and start seeing them as scholars in motion? Grounded in direct experience
teaching inside and beyond the carceral system and best practices, this session challenges
common assumptions and invites a shift in how faculty and staff show up in the classroom
and on campus. Participants will explore concrete, human-centered practices that build
trust, foster belonging, and support academic success while navigating the real barriers
students face. This is both a call to rethink and a guide for action.
