EOP&S Bridge Program

The EOP&S Bridge Program is a 15-week learning community that helps students transition into college through structured classes, daily support, and a close-knit cohort experience designed to build confidence and academic success.

If you’re the first in your family to go to college, feeling unsure about where to start, or looking for extra support and structure, the EOP&S Bridge Program may be right for you. Bridge gives you a set schedule, daily academic support, and a community of students who start college together—so you’re never doing it alone.

Bridge Classes

Offered Spring 2026

  • Ethnic Studies 101 - Introduction to Ethnic Studies helps students explore race, identity, and social justice in the U.S. by learning about the histories, experiences, and voices of Native American, African American, Asian American, and Latinx communities.
  • Health 110 - Healthful Living helps students learn practical skills to care for their physical and mental well-being by exploring topics like nutrition, fitness, stress, relationships, substance use, sexuality, and making healthy life choices.
  • Guidance 120 - Success Strategies for Transfer Students helps students build the skills and confidence needed for college, career, and life success by exploring personal strengths, choosing a major, and learning effective study, time-management, and planning strategies.
  • Reading 184 - Critical Reading helps students strengthen critical reading and writing skills by learning how to analyze texts, identify key ideas and arguments, and clearly express their thinking through a variety of writing assignments.
  • Tutoring - Bridge students receive tutoring support, with mandatory daily tutoring built into the program to help strengthen academic skills and promote success.

How to Apply to Bridge

To apply for the EOP&S Bridge Program, complete the following steps:

  1. Apply to Modesto Junior College (MJC)

  2. Complete MJC assessment testing

  3. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or CADAA (California Dream Act Application) and/or the CCPG Fee Waiver Application (California College Promise Grant)

  4. Apply for the EOP&S Program and indicate your interest in Bridge on the application

  5. Contact the EOP&S Bridge Office at (209) 575- 6251 to schedule an appointment
