The College Readiness Experience

The Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOP&S) College Readiness Program is designed to widen the vision and brighten the future of financially and academically disadvantaged students. Through participation in classroom instruction, class discussion, extra-curricular activities and fieldtrips and participation in the economic, academic and counseling support services made available by the EOP&S Program, students develop valuable insights, skills and attitudes required for academic success!

The College Readiness Program was originally established in 1971, with 41 students. The program was designed to give future college students a "Head Start" in their educational goals. Since 1971, generations of students have benefited from their participation in the program.

The College Readiness Program is composed of skill-building courses in Health Education and Guidance. Students who successfully complete their courses may be eligible to receive 6 units of associate degree applicable credit.

The College Readiness Program provides a curriculum designed to give students the motivation and desire necessary for personal and academic growth, as well as the skills necessary to be competitive in the world of work.
