Resources for New and Current Students


Application Guide



  • If you are undecided about taking summer courses, complete the Summer Application, which will allow you to register for Summer or Fall.
    • If you complete the Fall application and later decide to take Summer courses, you will need to complete a new Summer application in order to Register.
  • If it has been over one year since you applied or attended a class, you will need to complete a new application.
  • Contact CCC Apply Help for technical assistance, or for help recovering your account.
  • Check the email you listed on the application for a confirmation that your application was processed, your w# (student ID), and for information regarding setting up your student email
  • If you do not have a social security number or your ITIN (Taxpayer Identification Number)
    • Select "No, I do not have a social security number or taxpayer identification number, or I decline to provide one at this time." Then follow up with us via the Live Chat for further assistance.

While you wait for your application to be processed in order to complete Steps 2 - 5, start working on Step 6 - Financial Aid!

Student Email, Pirates Net, and Placement

***Single sign on - Set up your student email to login to each***
  • Check the personal email you listed on your MJC application for steps on how to create your password.
  • Navigate MJC's student portal & PiratesNet
    • View and verify your Math & English Placement under "Test Summary"
    • If you have graduated from high school in the last 10 years will receive an English and Math placement automatically upon completion of the MJC Application.
      • If you do not have a high school record from the last 10 years, take the self-guided placement.

  • All email communications from MJC will go to your student email.
  • It may take up to 24 hours after your application is processed, for access to Piratesnet and student email set up.
  • Contact Student IT Services Desk - for questions or technical assistance.
  • If you are still learning English, visit the Testing Center to take the ESL assessment test, which will place you in an ESL class that matches your skill level.

  • Learn about MJC resources, services, rules, regulations, and how to register for classes.



Meet With a Counselor

  • Request via the Live Chat or visit the counseling webpage for more information regarding services.
  • Counselors are able to assist you with academic, personal, crisis, and career counseling.

  • Once the class has started, you will need to request an Add Code from the faculty.
