Transfer Work Evaluation for Placement

Course Work from Another California Community College

Great news! You may now use course work from other California Community Colleges or CSU's to fulfill your CORE Assessment step. If you have completed course work at another California Community College or a CSU and would like to use it towards your CORE step, submit your OFFICIAL transcripts to the Enrollment Services Office. Once the Enrollment Services Office receives your official transcript you will receive an email to your student email with a link to the Transfer Work Evaluation Request form. The following options are available to you:

  • Full Evaluation - if you need all of your courses posted to your MJC student record. Please allow four to six weeks for processing once your Transfer Work Evaluation Request has been received.
  • Prerequisite posted to clear enrollment - if you only need specific prerequisite courses posted in order to enroll in a course at MJC. Please allow two business days for processing once the request has been received.
  • English and Math posted to clear CORE step for priority registration - if you need English and/or math courses completed with a C- or better for satisfying the CORE assessment step for priority registration. Please allow two business days for processing once the request has been received.

Official transcripts must be received in the Enrollment Services Office prior to submitting the Transfer Work Evaluation Request form. The form will only be available to you once your official transcript has been received. If you have questions regarding Transfer Work Evaluations contact the MJC Evaluations office at 209-575-6605 or by email at
