Extended Time on Assignments
Assignments with reasonable notice and those listed on the syllabus would not qualify for extended time as an accommodation. Students may be able to get an extension on the assignment informally and independently from their instructor, but it would not be considered an ASC accommodation. A college will elect to offer additional services based on the needs of the population of students with disabilities served. All services addressed in Title 5 Regulations Section 56026 are discretionary notwithstanding State and Federal law. The college can determine which services are best provided by the accommodations office or by other departments on the campus.
Voter’s Registration Statement
Provisions of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 Section 7 requires states to offer voter registration opportunities at all offices that provide public assistance and all offices that provide state-funded programs primarily engaged in providing services to persons with disabilities. Each applicant for any of these services, renewal of services, or address changes must be provided with a voter registration form of a declination form as well as assistance in completing the form and forwarding the completed application to the appropriate state or local election official.
