Campus Life Gala
In 2016, Campus Life & Student Learning began the Campus Life Gala. The Campus Life Gala focuses on recognizing the outstanding performances of students participating in campus extra-curricular activities. The Gala is MJC's version of the Oscars.
The evening features a variety of awards, including Student of the Year, Senator of the Year, Club of the Year, and Club Advisor of the Year among others. Additionally, there are various recognitions of students, staff, and community contributions to campus extra-curricular activities and programs.

Campus Life Student of the Year
The Student of the Year award is given to a student who has accomplished the following:
- Has demonstrated academic excellence maintaining a 3.0 or higher
- Participated in Campus Life Programs
- Have been an active part of campus activities
- Is on track to receive a Certificate, Associates Degree, or Transfer
Campus Life Student of the Year Selection Process
To become the student of the year, a student is nominated by Campus Life Staff.
11 finalists are selected. Finalists are recognized at the Campus Life Gala.
A winner is picked from among the nominees by the Gala Awards Committee and announced at the Campus Life Gala.

Campus Life ASMJC Senator of the Year
The Senator of the Year is an award given to the ASMJC Senator has accomplished the following:
- Has demonstrated academic excellence by maintaining an above average grade point average
- Completed a Senator Project
- Assisted in Campus Life and ASMJC events and activities
- Completed all requirements of the position
- Goes above and beyond to serve their fellow ASMJC members and students
Senator of the Year Selection Process
To become senator of the year, Senators are nominated by ASMJC Executives and Senators.
5 Finalists are selected among nominees who received multiple nominations. Finalists are recognized at the Campus Life Gala.
A winner is selected from the finalists and announced at the Campus Life Gala.

Campus Life Club of the Year Award
The Club of the Year award is given to the club that has accomplished the following:
- Completed all training sessions and requirements, and submitted all paperwork on time.
- Remained in good standing all year.
- Had positive attendance at Inner Club Council Meetings.
- Been active on campus through activities that are not just beneficial to the club but to the community and the campus as well.
Club of the Year Selection Process
To become Club of the year, a club must complete all minimum requirements of being a club and be a club in good standing.
The Inter-Club Council (ICC) selects the nominees.
5 finalists are selected. Finalists are recognized at the Campus Life Gala.
A winner is picked from among the nominees by the Gala Awards Committee and announced at the Campus Life Gala.

The Club Advisor of the Year award is given to the club that has accomplished the following:
- Ensured that the club completed all training sessions and requirements, and submitted all paperwork on time.
- Ensured that the club remained in good standing all year.
- Attended all club meetings.
- Assisted the club in being active on campus through activities that are not just beneficial to the club but to the community and the campus as well.
Club Advisor of the Year Selection Process
To become Club Advisor of the year, a club advisor must complete all minimum requirements of being a club advisor and be a club advisor in good standing.

- Attended a majority of ICC meetings.
- Participates in ICC Meetings

To become Club Advisor of the year, a club advisor must complete all minimum requirements of being a club advisor and be a club advisor in good standing.

Campus Life William Tumblin Volunteer of the Year Award
The William Tumblin Volunteer of the Year Award is an award given to an MJC student has accomplished the following:
- Has demonstrated academic excellence by maintaining an above average grade point average
- Volunteered for campus events above an beyond.
- Volunteered for community events above and beyond.
- An active member of the Project GIVE Program
This award is named in honor of William Tumblin, a former ASMJC Vice President and Senator who passed away in 2016.

To become the William Tumblin Volunteer of the year, a student participates in Project GIVE.
5 finalists are selected who have the most volunteer hours. Finalists are recognized at the Campus Life Gala.
A winner is picked from among the nominees by the Gala Awards Committee and announced at the Campus Life Gala.

- Arrives to work on time, doesn't miss work, and goes above and beyond in the area of customer service.

Campus Life Terilyn Peralta WE Award
The WE Award is given to a student who has accomplished the following :
- The WE award is given to a student who has demonstrated the ability to serve others.
- They are a team player often asking "what can I do to help."
This awarded is named in honor of Terilyn Peralta, a former MJC student who passed away in 2019

To become the WE award recipient a student is nominated by Campus Life Staff.

Campus Life Village Award
The Village Award is given to a individual, departments, programs, or community members or organizatiosn that :
- Has enhanced the lives of students at MJC through their participation or support of Campus Life events, activities, or programs.
- Has put the needs of students first
Campus Life Village Award Selection Process
To receive the Villiage Award individual, departments, programs, or community members or organizations are nominated by Campus Life Staff.
A winner is picked by the Campus Life staffand announced at the Campus Life Gala.

ASMJC Honorary Membership
Honorary membership is the highest honor ASMJC can bestow on a person who has not been an elected/appointed member of ASMJC. Honorary membership is given to individuals who have done the following:
- Has advocated for students and put student needs first
- Has contributed to the positive learning and leadership experience of members of ASMJC
- Has contributed to the positive participatory governance experience of members of ASMJC
ASMJC Honorary Membership Selection Process
To become an honorary member of ASMJC a person is nominated by an Executive Member of ASMJC.
The Executive Team must vote unanimously to accept the nomination.
The ASMJC Senate must vote unanimously to approve membership.
The honoary membership is announced at the Gala

The Campus Life Academic Excellence Awards are given to a Campus Life student with a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
